Cuba Ministry

Covenant Presbyterian Church's Cuba Partnership

It has been my sincere privilege and joy to participate in this ministry for over a decade. Usually once a year, I travel to Havana, Cuba. While on this exchange I have formed some of my most meaningful relationships.

Covenant Presyterian Church has a relationship with Iglesia Presbiteriana Reformada in a barrio of Havana called Luyanó. It is with these congregants that I have found connection, and a shared love of music. With Cuba's rich musical history, no wonder! Performing with my Cuban counterparts is always a highlight for me. Spoken language can fail us, but the language of music is universal and unifying.

Trips usually include a combined Cuban/American concert. Here is a video of me playing "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" by Thomas A. Dorsey, arranged by Tom Brown, with my Cuban sister, Iliana Garcia.
